In the last months, many rumors appeared regarding the end of Angra, members leaving the band, etc. So we wrote this letter, that represents the official positioning of the band, as an explanation mainly to our fans.
Our will, while musicians, is to worry about the music, the artistic and creative part of the band. Unhappily, however, no band would survive without the bureaucratic part that, if not very organized and clear, could disturb the whole rest. That’s why it was necessary for us to take a break in everything that we were doing, and to begin to put the house again in order.
The first step, and maybe the most crucial, is the change in the management and in the whole administrative structure of Angra. These are fundamental changes to us, so that we can once again focus our objectives in the art, and not in papers and documents. Being a transformation of great proportions, it demands time and a lot of work to be carried out, and we are putting all our energy into it so that we can finish the process as fast as possible, and then make what we really love again: to play.
None of that, however, would be happening if it wasn’t for a very important factor: we really want to keep on playing together, taking Angra further and further, continuing our mission of showing to the world the Brazilian music and culture. When something is done with love, it is impossible to simply leave everything aside, as some rumors suggested, and like some people, it seems, would like to. Therefore, our union now is stronger than ever, and now we know very well who we can count on. As a result, be sure that in 2008 Angra will be back, with many projects to accomplish, and with a motivation never before seen. And our biggest joy is to know that can have our dear fans and friends by our side. People that were always there for the band, and that are, no doubt, our greatest source of energy to keep on going for many and many years.
